The past few years have been full of struggles for me, especially after losing my father and my Dog(Jackson) last year. Along with this loss, I had to step away from my wholesale fruits and vegetable business in India (as i had to move to canada due to my wife’s pregnancy) and ensure my mother and sister could take charge of it—a completely new and challenging experience for them.
As many of you know, in some parts of India, people still hold old-school beliefs about women in business. While many families proudly send their daughters to study, when those same daughters step into a traditionally male-dominated business, they face questions, doubts, and gossip. “Why are they here?” “How will they manage?” “They should stay at home.” These are just some of the things they hear.
But despite the negativity, many have also supported and guided them. My mother and sister have learned, adapted, and are proving themselves every day. I strongly believe that women can excel in every sector—whether it’s education, business, or leadership. It’s time we move beyond outdated mindsets and encourage women to step into every field with confidence.
To everyone reading this, support the women around you. Lift them up instead of questioning their abilities. The world changes when we change our mindset.
