TURMERIC

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is, a perennial herbaceous plant of the ginger family. The plant’s underground stems or rhizomes have been used as spice, dye, medicine and religious maker since antiquity.

The spice’s colour comes mainly from curcumin, a bright yellow phenolic compound that has been in the news for its ostensible potential to fight cancer. As a result, the demand for turmeric with high curcumin content has risen.

India is the world’s largest producer of Turmeric.

Telangana followed by Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and odisha are largest producers in India.

‘Kandhamal Haldi’ (a variety of turmeric indigenous to southern Odisha) and Erode turmeric (grown in the entire Erode district of Tamil Nadu) have earned the GI tag. 

CHIME

Scientists with the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) Collaboration have assembled the largest collection of fast radio bursts (FRBs) in the telescope’s first FRB catalogue.

NEED AN UNKNOWN “Dark Energy” is causing the expansion rate to increase. The origin and physics of this Dark Energy are presently unknown. One way to probe the nature of Dark Energy is through studying in detail the expansion itself .CHIME will map the history of the expansion rate of the Universe by observing hydrogen gas in distant galaxies that were very strongly affected by Dark Energy.

CHIME is an interferometric radio telescope.

It is located in British Columbia, Canada.

It consists of four antennas consisting of 100 x 20 metre cylindrical parabolic reflectors with 1024 dual-polarization radio receivers suspended on a support above them.

The antenna receives radio waves from hydrogen in space at frequencies in the 400–800 MHz range.

THE NEW ATLANTIC CHARTER

The New Atlantic Charter is an agreement that was signed by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and the President of the United States Joe Biden on 10 June 2021.

The then Atlantic Charter included eight common principles.

  1. The United States and Britain agreed not to seek territorial gains from the war, and they opposed any territorial changes made against the wishes of the people concerned.
  2. To support the restoration of self-government to those nations who had lost it during the war.
  3. People should have the right to choose their own form of government.

The latest agreement was signed at the first face-to-face meeting between Johnson and Biden at the 2021 G7 Summit in Cornwall, England.The two leaders plan to sign what they’re calling a new Atlantic Charter, pledging to “defend the principles, values, and institutions of democracy and open societies.”

The agreement is a new version of the Atlantic Charter, signed by Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941

My Greenish Garden Forest

Global greenhouse gas emissions have grown for three consecutive years and the planet is one place for potentially catastrophic climate change.

Requirement of man made oxygen during COVID-19 has also shown just how disastrous the consequences of ecosystem loss can be. By shrinking the area of natural habitat for animals and forests, we have created ideal conditions for pathogens like coronaviruses to spread.

I really think that your small garden can be a forest garden.I am working each and every day on my forest garden from the past few years and the only thing that keeps me going is the intense avian activity that goes on around my self created small forest opposite to my house. I believe that trees are good for our soul. They’re essential to the air we breathe and provide a majestic example of strength and perseverance in the face of adversity.

I have never seen cuckoo( koel)but it sings me beautiful, melodious songs, as though returning favour for a cool refreshing drink.

Attracting exquisite creatures like birds :

Keep water in your garden, balcony, terrace,garden and other surrounding areas.Remember to change the water daily, and keep the bowl clean.

I love to hang around this serene water junction; silent, still and hidden behind a curtain in the form of trees so as not to disturb, as I would in woods by a waterhole, waiting and watching for birds and animals to drop by.

Throughout history, trees have filled us with wonder and sparked our imaginations.

If a tree bears sweet fruit, birds have many reasons to visit it.

Only with healthy ecosystems can we enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity. Our small actions like growing trees, greening our cities, rewilding our gardens or cleaning up trash alongside rivers and coasts will definitely help us in reviving our mother earth.Every performance, no matter how small, matters.
